CONVEYING ANTICIPATION: communicates the intention of motion

REPEATING: suggests change in shapes position through multiple similar shapes

CROPPING: leaves out part of an image in which you can assume an action is taking place

BLURRING: unclear images suggest an object moves too quickly to be properly captured

FRAGMENTING: certain elements of an object repeated to show specific movement

ELICITING A KINETIC RESPONSE: use of cognitive visual illusions

SIZE CHANGE: objects closer to viewer appear larger

LINEAR PERSPECTIVE: all shapes go back to one point in space

VERTICAL LOCATION: objects closer to bottom of page are closer to viewer

ATMOSPHERIC PERSPECTIVE: illusion of depth by using the haze of color seen at a distance

OVERLAPPING/TRANSPARENCY: gives illusion of object being three dimensional

FIGURE/GROUND RELATIONSHIPS: shapes only perceived in relation to one another using contrast
